Ducts formed from compressed fiberglass boards with a foil facing, so the insulation is built in and it damps system noise well. The downside is the interior surface: it's rough and porous, so it traps dust, can't really be scrubbed clean, and grows mold if it ever gets wet. Life is similar to flex, roughly 10 to 15 years.
